Travelodge, the first budget hotel to launch in the UK, has opened its 513th hotel at the UK’s largest fashion designer shopping outlet, Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port. The opening marks the first UK launch of a designer outlet hotel.
The new 77-room hotel, which opened on Thursday 2nd August 2012, is a stones throw from more than 140 of the UK’s top designer stores which includes Armani, Diesel Ted Baker and Superdry – making it the perfect weekend break destination for shopaholics.
To celebrate the designer opening, Travelodge has released rooms from £19. So, fashionistas across the country can revel in a weekend of retail therapy without the designer cost of an overnight stay.
Travelodge spokesperson, Shakila Ahmed said: “We are delighted that Travelodge has made history by opening the UK’s first hotel at a designer shopping outlet.
“The Cheshire Oaks complex, which attracts seven million visitors every year, offers shopaholics a vast range of designer brands, restaurants and bars in one location. Also with the beautiful historic city of Chester just a short distance away; our new Cheshire Oaks hotel is an ideal location for a girls weekend break.
We are thrilled to add this hotel to our portfolio and offer shopaholics rooms from just £19; which means there will plenty of change left to treat yourself to a new outfit”.
Earlier this year Travelodge opened a hotel above Topshop in the heart of Edinburgh’s shopping district, Princes Street. The 96-room hotel has been built in a grade II listed building, which looks out over Waverley Station and Edinburgh Castle.
The Travelodge model means guests pay for the room only so there is no supplement charge. A family room caters for two adults and two children or three adults. The family room includes a luxury king size bed, sofa bed, en-suite facilities, flat screen TV with 18 free digital channels, free tea / coffee making facilities and WIFI .
