With the Australian dollar tumbling to a 20-month low, Qatar Airways may have chosen the perfect time to invite travellers to plan their next trip and take advantage of some hot new airfares, such as Paris return from AUD 1095.

The Australian dollar was buying 71.1 US cents this morning (AEST), according to XE.com.

The AUD 1095 Qatar Airways lead-in fare to Paris is from Perth – but there are attractive deals available from east coast ports too.

From Sydney, Qatar Airways is advertising Istanbul from AUD 1105, Rome from AUD 1150, Barcelona from AUD 1215, Milan or Amsterdam from AUD 1145, Stockholm from AUD 1185, Frankfurt or Prague from AUD 1235 and Manchester from AUD 1265.

From Melbourne, fares include London Gatwick from AUD 1220, Istanbul from AUD 1085, Paris from AUD 1160, Rome from AUD 1230, Barcelona from AUD 1180, Milan from AUD 1170, Athens from AUD 1215, Dublin from AUD 1160, Amsterdam from AUD 1125.

Similarly keen fares originating from Brisbane are on sale too, as are business class fares.

Qatar Airways’ fleet now includes more than 200 aircraft. Amin said the airline “now fly more people, on more aircraft, to more destinations than ever before”.

The airline recently announced it would add 16 new destinations to its global route network in 2018-2019, including Gothenburg, Sweden; Tallinn, Estonia; Valletta, Malta; Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam, and the Gulf region’s first direct service to Luxembourg.
