Hotel Astor, Iconic Art Deco Property In Miami Beach, Now Approved Under The EB5 Program To Undergo Multi–Million-Dollar Refurbishment
The hotel aims to recapture its iconic status on Miami Beach by restoring all guest rooms & suites to their original glory while adding modern amenities and services befitting of a high quality boutique property. The Hotel’s aim is to bring back the glamorous South Beach of the Art Deco days, through carefully curated cultural programs and events.
Hotel Astor 2 Million Refurbishment
David Hart, Managing Partner of the Hotel Astor: “The hotel’s refurbishment is primarily funded through the EB5 program, a popular government investment stimulus that allows foreign nationals to obtain green card status in the US. The Hotel Astor will use this cash influx to refurbish and reposition the property as a deluxe “True Boutique Hotel”. This includes the upgrade of all its 41 rooms and suites, the restaurant and public areas as well as the introduction of new services and the return of the swimming pool and possibly a rooftop spa and terrace. “
The hotel’s extensive restaurant, Terrace and Astor Social Club facilities will also undergo a facelift whilst the search for a suitable food & beverage partner has commenced. The regeneration and beautification of Washington Avenue on South Beach has triggered great interest from various operators and the hotel hopes to announce details soon.
Design will be co-ordinated with Nancy Nielsen who previously oversaw projects such as the Raleigh, The Miami Standard and the Mondrian in Miami Beach.
Robert van Eerde, CEO and founder of STEM™ Hotels: “We are going to bring back the Hotel Astor as it was once known by South Beach regulars but with a more modern, stylish but relaxed vision. We are looking to introduce cultural programs and create a laid-back environment primarily enjoyed by South Beach residents”.
