Tuscany’s Castello di Casole knows how to host a party. The estate was once home to acclaimed Italian filmmaker Luchino Visconti who was almost as famous for his lively parties as he was for his films.

This July, the festivities will return once again return as Hotel Castello di Casole celebrates its first anniversary since its opening in July 2012.

From medieval feasts, and champagne parties to film festivals and music concerts, July will offer an extensive range of celebrations which guests can enjoy alongside the hotel’s 3- night Anniversary Package.  Package highlights include a  €100 resort credit per couple valid on Spa services or at dining outlets, accommodation in a suite with panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside, full breakfast daily at Ristorante Tosca a complimentary bottle of Estate red wine “C” and access to theEssere Spa.

Valid for bookings made by July 31, 2013 and valid for travel until October 31, 2013.

The anniversary will coincide with the famous Palio di Siena horse race on 2 July. Guests seeking the ultimate party will love the Palio Package, which includes Palio viewing in a private apartment overlooking the majestic Piazza del Campo, a Ferrari back roads adventure, hot-air balloon ride over Tuscany and much more.

On a more local level, just 10 minutes’ drive from Castello di Casole, the charming hilltop town of Casole d’Elsa will host its own Palio horse race. Taking place on Sunday, July 14th, the competition is preceded by a pageant in medieval costumes. In each of the six contrade, or town quarters, celebrations spill into the streets for a weekend of dancing, eating and drinking with local villages participating.

Originally the estate’s wine cellar, Essere Spa, meaning To Be in Italian, offers a serene setting within one of the most dramatic spaces at the hotel. Barrel-vaulted ceilings and restored stone walls create a theatrical setting accentuated by long views across an expansive valley.

There are seven treatment rooms, separate relaxation areas with dramatic water features, steam rooms, pools inspired by Roman baths and locker rooms. In addition, Essere Spa includes an outdoor garden terrace for yoga and Pilates as well as a common relaxation area in a private outdoor spa garden.
A variety of treatments from renowned European spa and wellness experts, Comfort Zone will be offered ranging from relaxation and revitalization to anti-stress and anti-aging, as well as, various types of massages ranging from Shiatsu to Lymphatic; all inspired by natural products indigenous to the Tuscan region such as olive oil, grape seeds and skins, rosemary and other local products.
