Hotel development around Quito’s new international airport Recently awarded South America’s Leading Airport at the World Tourism Awards 2015, the newly opened Mariscal Sucre International Airport is attracting a number of important hotel projects around its ground. Wyndham Quito Airport Gran Condor Wyndham Hotel Group will be soon opening its first property in Ecuador’s capital city. The full-service, 146-room property will be the first hotel to open its doors on the new international airport grounds. Upon opening in early 2016, the hotel will be the fifth Wyndham Hotel Group property operating in Ecuador. Services and amenities will include an onsite restaurant, lobby bar, pool, gym and spa facilities. The hotel will also offer four 77-square-meter meeting rooms that can be converted to a large 300-square-meter conference room. Hotel Eurobuilding Express Eurobuilding Venezuela, a major hotel chain with over 20 years experience in the international market, will open its five star hotel near the new Mariscal Sucre International Airport in early 2017. The property will showcase 14 deluxe rooms and a presidential suite, and further expand to 70 additional rooms and luxury services. Holiday Inn Quito Airport Quito’s new Holiday Inn will be located less than two kilometres from Ecuador’s new international airport, and will offer 130 rooms within a four-story building. The hotel targets both business and leisure travel, with convenience and pleasure. Amenities will include an indoor swimming pool, restaurant, fitness centre, and 550-square-metre of meetings space. The Holiday Inn Quito Airport is scheduled to open its doors in 2016. Hilton San Patricio The Hilton Group announced in 2014 its plan to open a new property in the vicinity of Quito’s new international airport. Located in Cumbayá, an intermediate area between the airport and the city, the Hilton San Patricio is estimated to be finished between 2017 and 2018, and will boast 150 rooms.
