The fresh winter mornings are starting to settle in with the first snow falling at Hotham and Falls Creek. With temperatures dropping to 0C and a wind-chill of -11 during the night, the 2014 snow season is nearly here.

The light dusting of snow at Hotham and snow flurries at Falls Creek combined with record low-temperatures in March has spread excitement and anticipation among the locals, as the count down to the 2014 season begins. Over the past few weeks the mountains have really come alive as the teams slowly but surely prepare as winter comes back with a vengeance.

Hotham is Victoria’s highest alpine village and Falls Creek is the state’s largest alpine resort both located in the North East of Victoria. In addition to extensive snow terrain and stunning landscapes, both resorts boast an impressive range of restaurants, bars, accommodation and other activities to suit the whole family and every budget.

On Saturday 7 June, Hotham and Falls Creek will officially celebrate the opening weekend of the 2014 season. Both resorts will be open till 28 September, allowing almost four months of non-stop family fun in the snow.

With a variety of on and off slopes activities, unique ski-in and ski-out accommodation and some great deals on accommodation packages and multi-day lift passes, make sure you book early in order to secure spots at the most in-demand accommodation at both Hotham and Falls Creek.
