House of Travel Christchurch City took home 14 top awards, including Best Performing House of Travel Store 2018 and Consultant of the Year at the House of Travel Group’s conference in Auckland late last month.
The annual awards honour the outstanding teams and consultants for House of Travel Group, the largest privately owned retail travel company in Australasia.
House of Travel Christchurch City’s Belinda Fifield was crowned top House of Travel Consultant for New Zealand. She was also awarded Overall Customer Champion, and named a top consultant for the sixth year in a row.
The Christchurch City team received the Singapore Airlines Outstanding Performance Award, and the Air New Zealand Top Retail Store (South Island) Award.
Belinda Fifield and Sarah Henderson were recognised with Gold Awards, and Sarah was inducted into the Hall of Fame with the Legend of House of Travel Awards. Silver Awards also went to Sue Storey, Sharon Hall and Siobhan Bull.
HOT Events, part of House of Travel Christchurch City, received the Gold Group Sales Award, winning Group of the Year for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
With the Christchurch Joint Marketing team, Christchurch City also received their Local Area Marketing Award for Botanic D’Lights Christchurch, which raised close to $75,000 for Hospice New Zealand in August last year.
House of Travel Christchurch City Managing Director, David Williams says winning Best Performing Store after a 10 year break was a testament to their success in diversifying the business.
“This is a changing industry and we are changing with it. Our success is down to collaboration and a team effort from our 26 dedicated team members. We’re are much more than a leisure travel store, we also specialise in corporate, groups and New Zealand Olympic Travel,” he says.
“We are proud to have Belinda named Overall Customer Champion, as this is judged by customers and awarded directly from their feedback. To have both Belinda and Sarah recognised as Hall of Fame Legends is a huge honour, and Sarah now joins an elite group of just 10 people including Belinda.”
Nearly 800 members of the House of Travel Group attended the company’s annual awards conference at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland, representing 75 House of Travel stores and eight Orbit World Travel locations nationwide.
The 2020 House of Travel Awards will be held in Christchurch.
