The new Reputation Management Workshop, which will run from 9.30am-12.30pm, will be hosted by American social media guru and international, destinational marketing expert, Jim Brody, who will help businesses in Port Stephens navigate the often overwhelming and ever-changing digital marketing environment.

Promising an easy-to-understand presentation free from ‘geek speak’, Mr Brody will offer businesses advice on how to maximise and manage their online presence, with tips on creating content, blogging, how to handle negative reviews, what platforms to use and how to create practical and effective social media strategies.

“Many Port Stephens business operators, especially those in the tourism field, are extremely busy and know they should be capitalising more on social media but don’t know how, often putting this into the ‘too hard’ basket,” said Destination Port Stephens CEO, Janelle Gardner.

“But this special three-hour workshop promises to help everyone better understand how social media works and how to make it work for them. Digital promotion is now a vital component of any marketing strategy so we urge as many local businesses as possible to attend this workshop so they can put new ideas into action quickly,” Ms Gardner said.

The workshop is part of a series of events Destination Port Stephens (DPS) has planned for this year to help local businesses maximise their potential and expand.

Subsidised by Destination Port Stephens, the May 20 workshop is available to DPS members for $55 – and $85 for non-members – including morning refreshments. Annual membership with Destination Port Stephens is available for $100.  To book the workshop or become a DPS member, visit www.portstephenstourism.com.au or contact Destination Port Stephens via  [email protected] or  4981 2964.
