Spread the love

When you’re trying to create a business that you just love, it’s always going to be important for you to think about the overall look – particularly when it’s a physical, offline business.

And when we’re thinking about companies within the hospitality trade, this can be even more important. Because a lot of the time, your customers are going to make a judgement on your business as soon as they see it. Sure, people can hear great things and head online to read reviews, but in terms of passing trade, image is everything.

And, to some customers, image will forever be the most important thing. Because it can often be the case that your customers will want to frequent a place that looks the part. And this means that you really have to get things together when it comes to your aesthetics. So as you’re pulling together the business plan, you ought to be thinking about what you need to design, and how it’s going to for your brand.

But this can be quite tough. Because for your business premises to work, you need to ensure that you’re balancing both the idea of image and function. Because your restaurant or hotel, or whatever your business might be, needs to be able to serve your customers and do the part, as well as look incredible too. So let’s consider the key things to keep in mind to make this happen.

Start With Your Branding

To begin with, you’re going to want to get started with your branding and applying that to the decor. This can be incredibly important if you want to make sure that your premises matches what you want your business to be. Or stand for. If you’re able to start building your brand, you can then make sure that it’s incorporated in the design, so that your customers are able to recognize your brand right off the bat.

Go With The Flow

Then you need to think about the flow and how you’re going to make the customer area flow. How the cooking or prep areas are going to fit in. And how you want the look and the feel of the space to really work. This will then allow you to get some great, functional design ideas together.

Fit In The Facilities

From here, you then need to make sure that you have all of the facilities you need. Where will the bathrooms go? And the delivery entrance? Will there be a staff room? These are all things that you may not originally think about, but are just as important to fit into the space too.

Design For Style

Then when it comes to designing something that is going to allow you to come up with the best options for each idea, you need help. Turn to shopfitters for this. Yes, you might want to work with a designer too, but you really need to know that the shop side of things is really covered off too. So make sure that the team you work with to design and create the space, really understands your goals here.

Save The Space

You also need to make sure that you have all of the space you need in the customer area. Can you fit in the tables you need. Or, if we’re talking about a hotel, all of the bedrooms. Just make sure that you have enough space for what you need, or you may need to cut back on tables, or so on.

Work In Storage

From here, you’ve then got to make sure that you have some storage in the space too. Because you don’t just want the functionality with tables and bathrooms and the cooking area. You need to make sure that you have everything you need to actually run the business too. This could be in terms of the office space and storage you have, food and beverage storage, and even things for cutlery and toilet paper. So really start to think about what the day-to-day looks like, and make sure that the premises can facilitate that.

Add In A Little Something, Just For Fun

And then finally, you might also want to think about the little things that you could work in, just for fun. Here, you may find that things like mirrors, flower walls, great lighting areas, artwork, and really quirky bathrooms are going to get attention. If you’re aiming for a design that will make your place so popular that business is booming and everyone online is talking about it, then the aesthetics really have to be right. So don’t forget about doing bits, just for fun.
