How To Spend 48 Hours On Daydream Island

Daydream Oct 2014For a taste of the Whitsundays and life on the Great Barrier Reef we’ve come up with the perfect itinerary to spend two days on Daydream and sample the many highlights which this tropical island paradise has to offer.

There’s a range of activities available and the best thing is, there’s something for everyone. Daydream appeals to all ages – whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or quality time with your children and loved ones.

Of course, if you have more time to spend then it’s easy to fill in a week on Daydream doing as much or as little as you please.

Here’s a suggested two day itinerary which is guaranteed to have you looking to extend your stay:

 Day One

7.00am Breakfast at Waterfalls Restaurant in the Atrium

10am Living Reef fish feeding with the sharks and stingrays. Daydream’s Living Reef lagoons are one of the feature attractions on island with over 140 species of colourful marine animals and 83 species of coral. You can also enjoy a Stingray Splash where you will get to feed and pat the resident rays.

11am – Take the Daydream Discovery Cruise which circumnavigates the island and includes coral viewing and fish feeding from the glass bottom boat.

12noon – After a light lunch enjoy Daydream’s leisurely rainforest walk where you’ll get to experience the natural beauty of the island’s wildlife and flora.

2pm Snorkelling from Lovers Cove is a fabulous way to see for yourself the amazing marine life on Daydream’s fringing coral reef.

5.00pm Enjoy a cocktail at Lovers Cove watching a stunning sunset from your deck-chair. It’s one of the most romantic and best vantage points in the Whitsundays.

7.00pm Dinner at Fishbowl restaurant followed by a movie at the Outdoor cinema


Day Two

7.00am Breakfast at Waterfalls Restaurant

9.30am Watersportsenjoy complimentary catamarans and stand-up paddleboards and kayaks at picturesque Mermaids Beach. For those looking for some more thrills perhaps hire a jet-ski, go wakeboarding or water-skiing.

12.00pm Make your way to the South end of the island for a Banana tube ride then relax by the pool.

1.00pm Lunch at Boathouse bakery

2.00pm Enjoy a round of mini-golf at Daydream’s spectacular 19-hole mini-golf course featuring Australian icons, history, culture, songs and folklore for all to enjoy.

3.30pm Finish your afternoon with a blissful spa treatment at Daydream’s Rejuvenation Spa. There are many treatments to choose from in the award-winning spa with one of the best outlooks in Queensland.

7.00pm Dinner at Mermaids Restaurant – Daydreams signature restaurant with gorgeous views over Mermaids Beach and the Whitsunday Passage. Then perhaps enjoy a cocktail or relax and listen to some live music.
