HTA Releases Request For Qualifications To Provide Public Relations, Communications, And Outreach Services

The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), the state’s tourism agency, has released a request for qualifications (RFQ) to seek a qualified and experienced contractor to manage and provide all HTA public relations, communications and outreach programs.

The HTA invites submittals from qualified contractors that have proven expertise in public relations.The HTA will select the firm determined to be the most qualified to efficiently facilitate the HTA’s public relations, communications and outreach programs, taking into consideration multiple factors including applicant qualifications and experience in accordance with the evaluation criteria set forth in the RFQ.

Successful management of the HTA’s public relations, communications and outreach by the selected contractor will provide ongoing, proactive, strategic counsel to the HTA on issues relating to the agency and Hawaii’s tourism industry. The selected contractor will also provide international news bureau support to the HTA’s international contractors and island chapters. The goals, objectives and scope of this solicitation are detailed in HTA-RFQ-14-02.

The new contract to be awarded under this RFQ will replace an existing contract that ends on Dec. 31, 2013. The HTA intends to award a contract for this RFQ in December. The period of performance under the new contract runs for two years fromJan. 1, 2014 through Dec. 31, 2016.

The written qualification statements are due no later than Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at4:30 p.m., HAST (Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time),in the manner described in the RFQ.

The RFQ will be available beginning Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at the HTA office located at the Hawaii Convention Center, first level at 1801 Kalakaua Avenue; Honolulu, Hawaii 96815, between the hours of 7:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or may be downloaded online atwww.hawaiitourismauthority.org (click on the link to “Request for Proposals”). The HTA will not accept any requests for the RFQ to be mailed.
