As of April 2017, the official Facebook page of Tour Hunan has reached over 100,000 fans. According to the China Inbound Tourism Development Annual Report, tourists come to visit Hunan for its scenery, Chinese culture and for business and leisure activities.
In order to increase the amount of inbound tourism, the Hunan Tourism Development Committee launched the official Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram accounts in January 2017. Since then, Hunan’s Facebook fan page has gained over 100,000 followers.
These social media pages open up a new “window” for Hunan’s overseas tourism promotion purposes, educating people about the province, and allowing Hunan to expand into the global market. Fans from all over the world are able to receive the latest news and travel information about Hunan, creating a community where thoughts and ideas about the province can be shared.
Tour Hunan kicked off with successful themes on their pages that have made quite an impressive level of engagement to fans. The first couple of themes included: “First Impressions of Hunan“, “Hunan Stories”, “Taste Hunan”, and “Tea in Hunan“. Exciting new themes and contests are still to come.
The official fan pages of Tour Hunan brings you closer to the province itself, filling in gaps about a mysterious history and culture waiting to be told. Tour Hunan will continue to build its brand presence, sending messages to the world about its special scenic spots, tasty cuisine, and unique culture.
