Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing surprised visitors to Beijing Fun in Qianmen with its pop-up store “Urban Forest” during the Mid-Autumn Festival (from September 22nd to 23rd, 2018). Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing brought the best gifts from nature to the very core of Beijing. From Wangjing to Beijing, this is where the journey back to nature starts.

During the two days of pop-up store event, Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing took the opportunity to foster the connection between urban life and the beauty and tranquility of nature. When nature sets the stage, it’s never human versus nature. It’s always humans in nature.  As the dining car painted in Hyatt Regency’s iconic purple appeared in the “pop-up forest”, loaded with food and beverage, it brought visitors a picnic basket full of freshly baked bread and seasonal fruits as gifts. The visitors could choose to enjoy the basket at the dining area, or sit together on the grassland to enjoy a real picnic in downtown Beijing while guitar folk songs and violin tunes played as the background.

Moreover, a series of nature-themed programs were organized for the pop-up store event, including floral arrangement and scented bath ball making classes, and vibrant cocktail and wine tasting, turning this “pop-up forest” into an autumn carnival. Meanwhile, on September 22nd, Mr. Li Xingming, the author of Mr. Otter’s New Neighbors, first prize winner of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, created an enchanted forest journey with his paintings; and on September 23rd, boutique fitness center Mode-L’s star trainer also led an elastic belt shaping group class with the guests, where their minds and bodies were refreshed while enjoying the tranquility of this “urban oasis”.

“More and more people feel like they are trapped in the hustle and bustle of city life due to the fast pace and the high pressure. People who are lost in this concrete jungle are now eager to recollect that piece of nature.” Mr. Till Martin, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing, said, ” We hope this pop-up event would bring a piece of ‘urban forest’ from Wangjing to the heart of Beijing, as a natural gift for this year’s mid-autumn festival. Meanwhile, we would also take this opportunity to let more people get to know about this tranquil urban sanctuary in the center of Wangjing CBD, where our weary minds can be rested, and our life stories can be empowered with new perspectives.”

Designed by award-winning architect Kengo Kuma, the hotel’s architecture is inspired by the Chinese “Sanhe Yuan,” a three-sided courtyard style home embracing a green garden. With its unique location between green parks, Kengo Kuma has created an “urban forest” defined by a contemporary chic design and natural materials as a refreshing backdrop to an intuitive hospitality experience.
