Hyatt Times Square’s T-45 Diner Is Now Open: The Theater District’s Newest Restaurant Offers A Creative Take On Classic Diner Food

A fashionable new eatery, T-45 Diner, has opened in the Theater District. Its innovative cuisine and vibrant setting will make it a place to see and be seen for serious foodies, Broadway show-goers, locals and visitors from around the world.
Located at street level in the sleek, new, 54-story Hyatt Times Square, T-45 Diner is just steps from Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue shopping and the Sixth Avenue business district. The diner can be reached from the hotel lobby as well as from its marquee entrance on 45th Street.H
Reflecting the vivacious character of its Theater District setting, T-45 Diner greets patrons with its striking George Wong décor. Wong’s retro diner design combines the energy of Broadway with the playfulness of modern art. Shiny metals play off the colorful striped wall covering, and red diner stools that flank the bar are counter-balanced by the warm, neutral colored banquettes, written word wall and more traditional white hexagonal tiled floors. Its lighting modulates to set the mood for the restaurant depending on the time of day. During the daytime, guests enjoy sunny lighting and a colorful backdrop while dimmed amber lighting in the evening creates a more muted, urbane ambiance.

Helming the kitchen at T-45 Diner is Executive Chef Nicholas Pelliccione. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, Pelliccione’s vast culinary experience has seen him work in five-star hotels such as the Waldorf Astoria, New York Palace and Peninsula as well as acclaimed NYC restaurants such as Bowery Diner, Giovanni Rana Pastificio e Cucina and Café Gray. At T-45 Diner, he creates the nostalgia of true American diner food, but in a healthier, modern way.

“The key is finding the best and freshest ingredients—local and organic whenever possible,” said Pelliccione. “People are often amazed at the variety and availability of fresh-from-the-farm produce in New York City. My greatest joy is sourcing local seasonal ingredients and finding non-traditional ways to use them in time-honored American dishes.”

T-45 Diner features a dynamic mix of contemporary and classic American dishes. The menu offers a selection of burgers including the Veggie Burger featuring a quinoa patty, the Signature Burger with oven dried tomatoes and a Russian Dressing, and the Pesto Burger with ratatouille and goat cheese. Signature entrees and a variety of grilled dishes take full advantage of local produce such as the Squash Sandwich with pickled beets and sprouts, Loch Duart Salmon, and the 12 oz. New York Strip Steak.

True to its diner roots, T-45 will have all of the dessert favorites, from the Salty Caramel Sundae to inventive shakes such as the Irish Affogato with vanilla, espresso and Baileys and the Flower Pot consisting of cake crumbles, chocolate, Cointreau, berries and mint as well as homemade all-American cakes and pies.

T-45 Diner is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For those who prefer dining en suite or at home, T-45 Diner offers the option for take-out food, which can be ordered in person or by phone.
