International Convention Centre Sydney’s (ICC Sydney) Culinary Services reaped praise overnight at the New South Wales Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence. The venue took home the 2018 Sydney Metropolitan Function/Convention Centre Caterer as well as the highly coveted, Sydney Metropolitan Caterer of the Year.

Recognising the best in the industry for service and culinary talent, the annual awards are independently judged and acknowledge those who excel in their field. The in-depth judging process involved an onsite visit to an event, where every aspect of the culinary service was reviewed and experienced by the judges.

CEO of ICC Sydney, Geoff Donaghy said the award was a great acknowledgment for the venue and the new industry standard it has set in its culinary services offerings.

“Since opening in December 2016, ICC Sydney has built a reputation of setting new industry benchmarks in delivering business events. Our clients’ success is our success and these awards highlight the outstanding level of event delivery we bring to every event,” Donaghy said.

CEO for Restaurant & Catering Australia, Juliana Payne said the venue’s catering and culinary service was truly worthy of the award wins.

“ICC Sydney has consistently exhibited exceptional standards of culinary excellence as commercial caterers for one of Sydney’s most prestigious venues which is why we were delighted to acknowledge them as winners of this competitive category at last night’s NSW Awards for Excellence,” Payne said.

ICC Sydney Director of Culinary Services, Lynell Peck said to receive this praise and recognition from industry peers was a testament to the culinary team’s commitment and passion in delivering world class culinary and food service.

“The dedication that our culinary team brings to every event delivery is reflected by these award wins, from the beginning with our Feeding Your Performance food philosophy and right through to the teams on the event floor. This industry acknowledgment is truly outstanding and is something we are all very proud of to have achieved in the short time that we have been open,” Peck said.

The National Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence will take place on 29 October 2018.
