Iconic Hong Kong Amusement Park Lai Yuen Celebrates Brand Rebirth with Brand New Restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui

Lai Yuen, Hong Kong’s iconic brand, brought the classic nostalgic sentiment to Hong Kong through the reappearance of its amusement park in 2015.  In 2016, the brand actively organised carnival pop-ups as well as its first carnival outside Hong Kong, aiming to revive itself as an entertainment production platform.  This summer, the brand’s first ever restaurant (cha chaan teng) will be grand opening on 8 June in Tsim Sha Tsui in celebration of its 68th  nniversary, bringing the brand’s “simple happiness” message to Hong Kong once again as it opens to public on
9 June. Occupying 2,280 sq ft, Lai Yuen Restaurant seats 73 and includes a private VIP dining area. A contemporary and cosy light colour scheme and oak décor together with an eye-catching ‘carousel chandelier’ replicates the past
amusement park theme in spectacular fashion. Lai Yuen’s familiar ‘Tiger Cub’ mascot, styled in glistening white fabric glass, welcomes guests at the entrance.  The design team believes this project that can take the diners back in time to the good old days, as well as attract the new generation to rekindle joyous and memorable Lai Yuen moments.

Equally nostalgic is the retro menu with a modern twist, reviving classic favourites served at the park from the past, including ever-popular chicken drumsticks, Fried Noodles In Supreme Soy Sauce with Chicken Leg, Roasted Whole Chicken with Glutinous Rice inspired by the Chef’s childhood memories, and beloved Hong Kong-style curries paying tribute to an icon of the amusement park, Dino the Dinosaur.

More information on media invitations and interview arrangements on Lai Yuen Restaurant’s opening day will be released soon.
