ID Tours Australia Wants to Party with Former Staff

ID Events Australia (ID Tours) Chairman Bill Wright is on a mission – to track down as many of the more than 700 people who have worked for his events company since it began in 1973.

“This year is ID’s 40th birthday, and we thought it would be wonderful to get as many past and present staff as possible together to relive old times and say thank you for helping us to get to where we are today,” Mr Wright said.

Sydney-based ID has showcased Sydney and Australia to thousands of Fortune 500 corporate achievers from around the world, flying them in for days of high octane fun in programs set up with their employers to thank and motivate them.

ID most famously won the Tourism Australia tender to bring Oprah Winfrey to Australia in 2010, but was a lead supplier for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and has coordinated incentive programs for such top tier companies as Coca Cola, Caltex and Sun Microsystems.

In 1990 ID was named in BRW magazine’s top 100 private Australian companies while Bill Wright, who began his long travel career as a trainee executive at Qantas, has become a leading figure in Australian tourism, serving on the boards of Tourism Australia and Tourism New South Wales over many years.

“Managing touring and entertainment programs for up to 3000 delegates at a time requires a very high degree of commitment and dedication from our staff, and it is these wonderful people my wife Suzie and I want to thank at a fun-filled reunion on Sunday, July 14 at Bar 100 in The Rocks here in Sydney,” Mr Wright said.

“We urge all past members to register your interest at or at as soon as possible.

And if anyone knows a former ID-er please do not hesitate to let them know that we would like them to come along to meet old colleagues and catch up with the exciting changes that are such a feature of the events and incentive industry today.”
