If you thought a mango was just a fruit then discover this sweet Vanuatu resort

image001I have to say when I heard I was staying at a resort called Mangoes Resort as part of my amazing prize trip to Vanuatu, I was not quite sure what to expect, thinking perhaps everything would be painted mango colour or all the menu items would feature Mangoes!

I should not have been so cynical or scared because Mangoes Resort in Port Vila turned out to be just fantastic, with Mangoes a honeymoon favourite in Port Vila, ticking all the boxes, with this adult only resort very peaceful, tranquil and surrounded by trees, with the biggest decisions I had to make were which of the three pools would I choose to swim in … and then which cocktail I would order – hey its a tough life being a travel agent trying out all these amazing places and hey my trip was a prize too!

Mangoes is also in a really great location, perched on a hill overlooking Erakor Lagoon and only a 15-minute walk into downtown Port Vila, where you can experience the real Vanuatu, the French/British mix and the real Port Vila with heaps of restaurant, bars and shops to choose from and the French influence coming through with French restaurants and coffee shops and great French pastries … yum!

Mangoes has accommodation to suit all budgets, including garden view bungalows, lagoon view bungalows, lagoon view pool bungalows and the garden view pool apartments even have their own private plunge pool.

All accommodation in Mangoes was set in a lush tropical setting and the bungalows were very nicely equipped and appointed and it was just one of those places where it was really easy to just chill out here and relax, yet it had the advantage of just being so close into town.

The restaurant at Mangoes offered a really great selection of local and international meals, with my choice of prawn skewers as a starter absolutely delicious and fresh local fish as a main course, was so yummy.

Sadly, though that tough decision presented itself again before dinner, that is which cocktail to order during happy hour … see I told you it was a tough life.

One thing is for certain though I will certainly be back at Mangoes Resort Port Vila, Vanuatu and now I have experienced Mangoes first hand, I will definitely be recommending Mangoes to my clients.
