When I met Toby Shaw at the recent Maximum Occupancy Conference, I thought I knew what he would do as Head of Search Marketing at Fastrack Group, but his other title of Data Scientist intrigued me.unnamed (4)

After just a few minutes with Toby though, it became clear to me though that most of us who thought we had our search marketing sorted, were in reality probably simply tinkering at the edges, because with the way search works changing … as Toby said, dramatically, and in particular Google changing its algorithms every day and more, it all had become very scientific and it was time to get in the professionals!

Toby also said that in 2016 more and more people will start using Google’s “Hotel Ads” and “Book with Google” features, as they are rolled out to independent hotels across the world, posing the question of what does this mean and how can a hotel take advantage of it, with Toby and Fastrack Group it appears, right across all these speed of light changes.

There is no doubt that Toby is now one of the hotel industry’s leading search marketing experts and data scientists, with the latest best practices at his fingertips, along with all the latest developments in SEO and search with the sole objective of driving more traffic to Fastrack Group client websites and converting more browsers into bookers.

I took the opportunity at the end of a superb Maximum Occupancy conference to have a chat with Toby and to hear what he had to tell me about this fast changing world, his role and how he and Fastrack help hotels drive real business, please click on the video below:
