IHG delegation outlines new resort developments

In a welcome development for travellers heading to Bali from Australia, InterContinental Bali Resort has opened a ‘Sayana Lounge’ – a dedicated arrival and departure lounge for early arriving and late departing guests.

The Sayana Lounge was one of several developments discussed on Tuesday at the Sydney InterContinental during a visit by representative IHG’s Bali, Thai and Vietnam properties to Australia.

The IHG delegation headed to Melbourne yesterday.

InterContinental Bali’s Sayana Lounge, located on the ground floor of the resort,  is complete with lockers, showers and changing facilities, plush lounge and open-air terrace. Guests can enjoy it free until either their room is ready or until their time of departure.

Sayana Lounge also provides eight lockers for the storage of suitcases and bags. Two of the lockers are walk-in and family sized with the capacity for a large quantity of luggage and personal effects.

At another IHG property, Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in Vietnam, three-star Michelin chef Pierre Gagnaire is creating culinary artistry at La Maison 1888. The resort says its signature restaurant has become the number one gastronomic destination in Vietnam since making it last year to the list of the top 10 World’s Best New Restaurants to Try, as published by CNN.

InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam

La Maison 1888’s setting tells the story, through architecture and interior design, of a colonial French-Eurasian family. Private dining rooms reveal the characters of this fictional clan, so diners gain a narrative as well as a fine dining experience.

The IHG portfolio includes, in Thailand, the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort, as well as the InterContinental Bangkok.

InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam was named Best Luxury Island Resort at the World Luxury Spa Awards 2017. It’s the fourth time the property has received this global spa award, which was announced at a gala event in Hanoi last month. The Baan Thai Spa by HARNN at InterContinental Samui received the award for Best Luxury Island Resort, beating 14 other luxury spas nominated in this category.

In Vietnam, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has won a swag of awards, including Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort, Asia’s Leading Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant, Asia’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa and Vietnam’s Leading Resort.

Other IHG properties in Vietnam are the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake and the InterContinental Nha Trang.
