IKEA’s website revamp: five new functions and an all-encompassing shopping experience

Mindful about the ever-growing popularity of online shopping in Hong Kong, IKEA Hong Kong has recently revamped its website to feature five key functions, presenting itself anew as a one-stop platform for home design, product selection, order placement and delivery arrangement. From online to offline, shopping with IKEA will never be the same again.

“Necessitated by Hongkongers’ hectic schedules, online shopping opens up more business opportunities for brands by transcending the limitations of the opening hours at physical stores. Ever discerning of customers’ needs, IKEA has especially curated a better and more comprehensive online and offline shopping experience, which enables customers to browse product information online before purchasing at the physical store, or to be duly inspired in-store before placing the order and arranging delivery online. Through its functionality upgrade, the website now inspires customers with more home decor ideas, while saving them time and energy during product selection,” said Roxy Cheng, Country Marketing Manager of IKEA.

Five New Functions on IKEA’s Revamped Website:

  1. Mobile Phone and Computer Compatibility: IKEA’s website upgrade is compatible with mobile phones and computers. This is to ensure home improvements as inspired by IKEA’s solutions can be achieved by customers anytime, anywhere.
  2. Quick View: Product information such as prices, stock availability, main features and materials are available for a quick glance at just a click, offering additional convenience for mobile users.
  3. Smart Filtering and Product Comparison: Customers may apply filters according to the prices, sizes, series, styles, new items and special offers of their preference in their product selection. With the selection of certain products, customers can compare the prices, sizes, main features and materials across the selected items to aid efficient purchase decisions and select the most suited items for the various sizes of their homes.
  4. Five Delivery or Pick-up Options: Once payment is made, customers may opt for pick-up at IKEA’s Hong Kong Island East Merchandise Pick-up Point, home delivery, office parcel delivery, 7-Eleven parcel pick-up, or S.F. Express pick-up for the option best suited for the products or circumstances, while tracking delivery status for some options.
  5. Member’s Page: Members may log in to the Member’s Page to for repeat purchases based on the product information available in the purchase history since the updated website launched.
