On 1 March 2019 Aman will launch the first in a series of immersive encounters and experiences under its new brand: Atma.

Around the world, Aman has always set out to strengthen the bond between mind, body and spirit, to nourish and enrich the self. Atma continues and extends this mission through a programme of carefully curated events – inspired by the culture and heritage of Aman destinations – that will re-engage the senses and free the mind. Atma is a Sanskrit word that refers to the spiritual energy which sustains and excites us. It is the air as we breathe it, the world as our senses experience it, scent and song, heat, light and colour.

Atma’s inaugural event will take place in Venice on 1 March 2019, with a night of revelry like no other, the ‘Carnevale del Futuro’ – a sensory wonderland of astonishing couture, cutting-edge production, illustrious artists and globally renowned Djs.

The prelude to the evening begins with an intimate dinner at Aman Venice, representing a shared celebration of life and paying homage to the city’s annual carnival. Hosting just over 100 guests, the Palazzo Dinner will feature a live performance by multiplatinum-selling British pianist and vocalist Jamie Cullum.

Bringing his jazz-touched vocals to Aman Venice for this special event, Jamie Cullum will entertain a private audience with his unique crossover blend of jazz and modern rock. This live performance and aperitivo will be followed by an exquisite dinner, after which guests will be transported by boat to the Arsenale di Venezia, a cluster of former shipyards and armories, to be immersed into another dimension of merrymaking.

Inspired by the iconic Carnevale di Venezia, Atma flips the focus from the present to what lies ahead with ‘Carnevale del Futuro’. Guests will be escorted into a time-shifted, parallel universe and, for one night, the vast Arsenale di Venezia will become a portal into a new and extraordinary place where spirits are lifted and barriers broken down. Sophistication dances into decadence, today blurs into tomorrow, as a select group of guests rediscover and reconnect with their true selves.

Entertainment on the night will include award-winning, Berlin-based house DJ and producer Dixon, Brooklyn DJs and producers Bedouin, and theplayful curiosity and open musical experimentation of Peggy Gou. Voted ‘Best DJ in the World’ four years in a row, Dixon will bring the unique, electronic sound that led to his ground-breaking ‘Innervisions’ selling out London’s Royal Albert Hall last September. Joining him are Bedouin, formed by Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki, who are at the forefront of the emerging ‘desert sound’ subgenre. Blending Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing and a nomadic lifestyle, they draw on diverse international influences to create a deep, delicate and emotive form of dance music. DJ Peggy Gou will bring her own, inimitable style to the night – a style that can veer seamlessly and creatively between pumping techno, playful house and more abstract compositions.

Carnevale del Futuro will take place from 10pm at the historic docks of the Arsenale di Venezia. The galleys and galleons may be long gone, but it remains one of the most aesthetically extraordinary and historically rich spaces in the world – the ideal place to introduce Atma’s vision of the future. A shuttle will collect guests from 9.30pm from Piazza San Marco and boat transfers will be provided from Aman Venice for Palazzo Dinner guests. All food and beverages on the evening will be included in the ticket price.

Masked or unmasked, submit to a night of revelry and elevated spirits with Atma by Aman.
