Macarthur’s inaugural Jacaranda Festival is a three-day celebration of all things Camden. There will be live entertainment, market stalls, Christmas celebrations – including a visit from Santa and the lighting of the Christmas Tree – as well as fireworks and the lighting of the jacarandas from Friday, November 23 to Sunday November 25, 2018.

Lining the streets of Camden, the iconic purple flower of the jacaranda is the symbol that was chosen to represent the celebration of a proud and colourful community. The maiden Jacaranda Festival will feature three days of entertainment showcasing the vibrant region.

Day one of the festival will see local musicians take over Camden’s main street and turn it into a beat street with free entertainment at various local venues on Friday, November 23.

Day two of the festival begins at 3pm on Saturday, November 24, and is the highlight of the festival. A fun-filled family day awaits with market stalls and entertainment lining argyle street with a range of giveaways, festive gifts and culinary delights. There will be a visit from Santa and opportunities to have photos with him. The night will reach its climax with the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree and the inaugural, festive lighting of the jacarandas which will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Day three of the festival switches gears with Larkin Place being transformed into a motocross and car show. Watch as the ARD Motocross Demonstration Team pull off death defying stunts and look at the polished street machines on display on Sunday, November 25.

The main event is held on Argyle Street, Camden, right in the centre of the historic Macarthur township.
