Tourism stakeholders will convene for the annual ‘Industry Day’ which serves as an opportunity for Tourism Fiji to announce its plans for the New Year and engage with partners in an open dialogue to listen to their needs for the growth of the tourism industry.
The Minister for Tourism, Industry and Trade, Honourable Faiyaz Koya, will officiate the event which is scheduled to take place at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, Denarau Island on Tuesday, 20 October.
Other key guests will include the Permanent Secretary for Tourism, Mr Shaheen Ali, Tourism Fiji Executive Chairman, Mr Truman Bradley and members of the Tourism Fiji Board of Directors.
Last year, the event attracted 280 tourism partners, 20 media and the entire Tourism Fiji team, including the off-shore Regional Directors based in the eight key source markets.
The registrations for Industry Day this year opens on 20 September.
“Industry Day is an important forum that allows for open dialogue between Tourism Fiji and industry stakeholders on our plans for the upcoming year to allow them to tailor their plans accordingly so as to ensure maximum benefit for the industry as a whole,” Mr Bradley says.
“We realise the value that this platform brings to how we operate as a support system for the tourism industry and are certain that this year will be significantly valuable as Tourism Fiji will be making announcements which will be of utmost interest to our stakeholders. Industry Day is structured so that it isn’t just about us sharing our strategies for the various markets, it is about inclusive participation by discussing areas of concerns and listening to what our partners have planned. This includes but is not restricted to key activities for 2016, including developments, market and promotion plans,” he adds.
Mr Bradley is urging all local industry operators interested to attend the Industry Day 2015 to register before the registrations close on Friday, 9 October.
