Since the high profile tie up between Qantas and Emirates, which came into effect on 1 April 2013, Excite Holidays has reported a growth in the number of hotel bookings in Europe and Dubai.

According to Excite Holidays, Australian travellers are responding positively to the alliance. The company has seen an average monthly growth of 12.3% and 29% in the number of hotel stays and activities booked respectively.

Joe Karbo, General Manager of Excite Holidays said: “Dubai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and caters for business and leisure travelers alike. Their world-class engineering projects like the Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Dubai Tower, their spectacular, luxurious 5 star hotels, beautiful Arabic architecture and warm climate all combine to make the city a must-see location.”

Furthermore, due to the unrest in some other countries in the Gulf area, visitors are flocking to Dubai instead, as it’s seen as a safe destination.

With the Qantas and Emirates tie-up, Dubai is fast becoming a favourite stop-over for a few days to break up long haul flights to Europe. It’s seen as a great destination for great shopping and bargains, including the Dubai Summer Surprise (DSS) and the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and there are a range of activities to keep visitors occupied.

According to Excite Holidays, the Dubai Desert Safari is the seventh most popular activity booked through the company’s website.

Excite Holidays has access to over 500 hotels and a range of activities and sightseeing tours in Dubai to suit all traveler needs, including a desert safari, hop-on, hop-off tour, a Dubai city sightseeing tour, seaplane flight and more.
