India’s latest Private Airline “ZOOM AIR” Starts Operations Becomes 10th Schedule Carrier For Domestic India Skies

India’s latest Private Airline, ‘ZOOM AIR’ will start daily scheduled operations from the DelhiKolkataDurgapur-Delhi sector. The same will be extended to Amritsar in the afternoon followed by a DelhiSuratBhavnagarDelhi, an evening service.

The Airline becomes India’s 10th schedule Carrier for Domestic skies presently, with others being Air India, Air India Express, Jet Airways, Jetlite, Indigo, Spicejet, GoAir, Vistara and Air Asia-India.

Mr. Koustav M. Dhar, CEO and Director of Zoom Air, said” Zoom Air shall fill the Gap of sectors which are less catered to, by other Scheduled Airlines. We bring a new Perspective of Flying and termed as Premium Commuter Airline, with On board Zoom Eat , styled snacks and beverages service, Professional crew, a new Initiative to have 1:1 Lady Pilots on Board, Operating from Premium T3 in new Delhi and T2 in Mumbai.”

The Airline will, for the first time also connect Durgapur ( Kazi Nazrul Islam International Airport) West Bengal , India’s first private Airport, open for Schedule flying built with JV with Changi international Airport.

Zoom Air with remaining Aircraft operations  shall also Connect from Delhi & Kolkata to Tirupati, Vijaywada, Mumbai, Shillong, Aizawl, Pasighat and Zero (in Arunachal Pradesh), Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Indore and Bhopal, at-least once daily as its route planning.

Zoom Air has been accorded by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India with SCHEDULE OPERATING PERMIT on 3rd Feb 2017 (permit copy attached herewith). The Schedule operating permit process for Air Operators Permit (AOP) process was completed satisfactorily by Zoom Air, after a 9 Months CAP3100 Certification process of 5 phases, including several demonstrations or proving flights pan India.

Zoom Air (license under Zexus Air Services Pvt. Ltd) presently has three CRJ-200LR Aircrafts, under Dry lease from CRJ Aircraft Leasing, Dublin out of which Two Aircrafts have been imported. The Airline has acquired Two similar CRJ-200LR aircrafts from Skyone FZE Aircraft leasing, UAE under Dry Lease which shall join its fleet by April 2017 to complete the fleet of Five Aircrafts (within One year), as a required condition by DGCA.

All Zoom Air Aircrafts are Bombardier Canadair Regional Jets, 50 Premier seater Long range versions, Quite Cabin & fast cruise technology, fitted with High Performance CF34-3B19 engines by GE Aerospace. The Aircrafts produced by Bombardier are extremely versatile for Short Sectors flying and aptly suited for Indian Tier II and Tier III cities, including a major support to Ministry of Civil Aviations initiative for Regional connectivity Scheme ( RCS ) and Zoom Air becomes first private Airlines to support and Join the RCS.

“We envisage a 18-20% year on growth, on such Underserved and Un-served Airports and we have seen such massive Air growth in stations like Vijaywada, Tirupati, Ranchi, Chandigarh etc. Its all about connectivity and Regular reliable services” further added Mr Dhar.

Koustav M Dhar has been synonymous for the last one and half decade with Indian Aviation and has been a pioneer for Regional Aviation in India.  He thanked the entire team of Officials of DGCA, Directorate Air worthiness and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security ( BCAS) for relentless support in making Zoom Air a reality.
