NOM’s new tasting menu takes diners on a culinary journey throughout Italy, championing Italian regional produce at its best, the three-course offering at HKD398 (plus 10% service charge) is ideal for groups of diners who, like Italians, think food tastes better when you share it.The famiglia-style dining experience is a generous menu of freshly baked pizzas, handmade pasta, NOM’s signature meatballs, premium meat and market fresh seafood. Full of flavour starters include the rich, creamy Burrata, sourced from a family farm in Southern Italy’s Puglia region, served with broadbeans puree, smoked anchovies and bottarga (can be tweaked for vegetarians) and the Black Angus Beef Tartare which uses premium beef from New Zealand or Australia and is cut through with a tarte homemade tomato salsa, piccalilli and oven-baked crispy Gruyere cheese.
It’s impossible to talk about NOM without mentioning their unexpected yet delightful twists on everyone’s favourite comfort food – Italian meatballs. Diners can dig into a playful offering of innovative creations including the Seafood Balls, made with market-fresh clams, mussels and served in a rich crustacean broth and the Chorizo and Octopus Balls, balanced with a carrot puree, bottarga and crunchy hazelnuts. NOM’s tasting menu mains include many well-loved Italian favourites reinterpreted with NOM’s signature twist; savour the Squid Ink Tagliatelle, pasta handmade every morning and tossed with spicy cod roe, Hokkaido sea urchin and a generous helping of mussels, or the melt-in-the-mouth NZ Reserve Beef Short Ribs served with a bell pepper dip and roasted root vegetables.
Fret not, there is enough of NOM’s freshly baked handmade pizzas for all the family. Oven-baked, traditional Roman-style, the pizzas are made with flour sourced from a small family business in Italy’s Marche region and topped with summer sweet Italian tomatoes and superior creamy buffalo mozzarella flown in fresh from Campania. Synonymous with the words ‘guilty pleasure’, the Mushroom and Black Truffle Pizza is served with wild mushrooms, fennel sausage, Taleggio cheese, mozzarella and black truffle. The newly added Nduja and Friarielli Pizza will have friends and families fighting over the last slice, with toppings including a rich smoked buffalo mozzarella, spicy sausage, broccoli sprouts and organic provolone cheese.
