The family-owned Grand Hotel Tremezzo is a magnificent Art Nouveau palace dating back to 1910. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo team is delighted to announce that for the 2019 season, the spa will only be using products from Santa Maria Novella di Firenze. Santa Maria Novella di Firenze is one of the oldest, still-operating pharmacies in the world, dating back to 1612. Monks of the Santa Maria Novella church originally ran the apothecary, crafting cures for the Black Plague and formulating Catherine de Medici’s favourite perfume, Acqua di S.M. Novella. The original formula is still available today.
In 2019, Santa Maria Novella di Firenze’s pharmacy is a mecca for beauty and history lovers alike; selling the most luxurious, award-winning botanical formulations that are now used in all of Grand Hotel Tremezzo’s TSpa treatments.
The Glowing Facial is an ultra-hydrating treatment that acts on your skin barrier in order to reactivate and keep its natural nourishment and source of health, thanks to the application of the polishing powder created by Santa Maria Novella.
Another key treatment at the TSpa is the 80-minute Hammam Lipolytic Ritual, which is a highly effective, stimulating treatment to oppose water retention and uneven skin texture. This ritual starts in the gorgeous marble Hammam Suite for a deep body exfoliation and continues in the treatment room with the application of the powder mask, together with the lipolytic solution of Santa Maria Novella, supporting blood circulation and a glowing complexion.
TSpa also offers a 25-minute Aromatic Herbal Scrub, which is an exceptional skin softening exfoliating body treatment that combines aromatic herbal salts with the arnica cream of Santa Maria Novella to leave your skin nourished, smooth and supply. The Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella massage candle is a genuine beauty treatment made of pure plant oils and prime emollient butters such as shea butter, coconut oil and avocado oil.
