Commenting on Ms Halpin’s appointment, McLachlan Tours’ Managing Director Peter Smith said: “Following the continued growth of Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours – which has become firmly secured as Australia’s leading battlefield tour provider, our recent partnering with Amras Cruises, the re-launch of Discover Asia and expansion of McLachlan Experiences, we’re excited to appoint Samantha to the expanding national business development team, joining recent recruits Justin Smythe in New South Wales and Jenny Bevan in Queensland.”

“Samantha will be instrumental in continuing to drive forward the growth of Mat McLachlan Battlefield Tours, which has a myriad of commemorative tours on offer over the coming years to coincide with major battlefield anniversaries for WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War. She will also assist in introducing our latest travel brands, including Amras Cruises’ inclusive, authentic-European luxury river cruising, Discover Asia’s customisable itineraries to exotic locales, and McLachlan Experiences’ flexible, immersive journeys for travellers seeking memorable, bespoke experiences,” said Mr Smith.

Ms Halpin brings in-depth industry experience to the role, having previously worked for travel operators including Expedia (Travel Agent Programme), Worldhotels, Hilton Hotels, Marriott Hotels and British Airways.

McLachlan Tours is a family company with a 30-year track record in the Australian travel industry. McLachlan Tours is accredited with the AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS), a member of the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) and Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA), and can customise itineraries for travel agents’ clients anywhere in the world.
