Tri State SafarisInland NSW was well represented with winners from Boggabri (Narrabri), Broken Hill, Dubbo and Silverton picking up five golds at the 2015 NSW Tourism Awards held on 26 November 2015 at Dockside Pavilion, Darling Harbour. In an overall showing of excellence, Inland NSW members and operators tallied five prestigious Gold Awards, five Silvers, two Bronze and three Finalists.

The Golds winners, who will progress to the 2015 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in February 2016, were Boggabri Drovers Campfire(Festivals and Events), Tri State Safaris (Ecotourism), Dubbo Visitor Information Centre (Visitor Information Services), Eldee Station(Hosted Accommodation) and Taronga Western Plains Zoo (Unique Accommodation).

Chief Executive Officer of Inland NSW, Graham Perry, said it was pleasing to see so many of Inland’s members being recognised for their excellence and leadership.

“Our award winners consistently set the benchmark for visitor experiences,” said Perry.

“Speaking with many of our winners last night, the consistent view was how winning the awards is just the icing on the cake. The main advantage of entering the awards is the discipline and the focus that the application process delivers to their business. By entering annually it provides an opportunity to review their business on an annual basis, to identify improvements and to deliver what is essentially their business plan for the next 12 months.

“I urge all operators across the region to follow their lead and reap the benefits.”
