Insane and Fitness South Africa share their secrets on endurance sport success with Seychelles professional athletes

Seychelles-TravelThe South African Insane and Fitness team were not only in Seychelles to participate in the fourth edition of Carnaval International de Victoria, but came ready to share their secrets of achieving endurance sport success.

fitness workshopIn a workshop at the International Conference Centre, Jack Faggan, professional athlete and Ambassador of Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN), South Africa’s most reputed brand formulated to provide nutrients and supplements to fuel high level athletes shared his performance secrets with local Seychelles athletes.

“There’s no shortcut to success, you need to work hard and be disciplined’’ Jack Faggan said.

He said the fastest way for athletes to improve their performance is to set out short term and long term goals.

‘’ Be respectful and always focused on the bigger picture’’

Insane and Fitness team believes success for athletes with high intensity training is to understand the importance of exercise, adopt a healthy approach of eating essential vitamins, minerals, healthy fat, fibre, protein and carbohydrate whilst cutting down on highly refine and fatty food.

The workshop was initiated by the Seychelles Tourism Board Office in South Africa and organised jointly with the National Sports Council. Marsha Parcou, the Seychelles Regional Manager for Africa said the workshop is opportune for Seychelles.

“Seychelles broke away from being simply a sun, sea and sand tourism destination and is now being earmarked with its other amenities such as its annual cultural based events and eco-friendly marathon. Insane and Fitness promotes healthy lifestyle which rightly falls within the spirit of the eco- friendly Marathon. “ Marsha Parcou said.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture is expected to meet the South African Insane and Fitness Team when he is in South Africa this week leading the Seychelles delegation to INDABA, the African Tourism Trade Fair in Durban. Minister St.Ange is expected to discuss their participation in the 2015 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria and on how they can help promote the event in South Africa.
