Inspiring Daniella Boutros To Deliver Cake Decorating Master Classes On Pacific Jewel Food & Wine Cruise

DANIELLA BOUTROS AND ELISA MONORCHIO COMPRESSEDWHEN Pacific Jewel’s passengers embark on next week’s P&O Cruises’ food and wine cruise they will meet the remarkable Daniella Boutros who will be sharing her intricate cake design and decoration skills onboard. 
Daniella owns and operates Buttercreme Lane and her classes onboard Pacific Jewel are always a hit combined with her inspiring against the odds success story, a positive attitude to life and a driving ambition to succeed.

Along the way, Daniella overcame severe dyslexia that forced her to leave school aged 16 later spending countless hours watching cake decorating videos on YouTube to acquire the self-taught skills that became the basis of a growing business.

Daniella’s P&O Cruises’ connection began almost by chance when, at an events expo two years ago, she bumped into Elisa Monorchio, who was then working in the cruise line’s Hotel Operations department and was always on the lookout for new onboard experts to conduct classes at sea.

Describing a typical day creating cake decorating works of art, Daniella said: “It is not an easy job; I work long long days, on average 18 hours. Not only because it’s my business but if you are someone who is passionate and creative I tend to not mind the hours that I spend creating.

“How did I get to where I am today? I owned my first store — a gift shop – when I was 16. So I grew up in business. Over the years, I found myself baking like crazy: cookies, cakes, slices and so on. I would work through recipe books trying to master baking. The sugar work came later and I was self taught via You Tube! Crazy hey!

“Magic seems to follow me wherever I go as I was then found by P&O Cruises and asked to start doing a show on their Food & Wine cruises. When I say magic, I believe opportunities are always there.

“But you just have to be brave enough to say yes! Don’t be scared to get it wrong! You’ll miss out on getting it right. I can tell you I gave up 100 times and have a cried every now and again when things get crazy! My life has been full of hardship, which only made me braver so I am thankful for that.”
