InterContinental Asiana Saigon officially announces the appointment of Mr. Derek Gomez to the position of Director of Food and Beverage. Prior to this appointment, he was most recently the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Vietnam.
Originally from Malaysia, Derek has more than twenty years of experiences in hospitality, food and beverage management throughout Asia and Middle East during his tenure with the prestigious hotel brands. Prior to his move to Vietnam, Derek has been working through a number of esteemed properties such as Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Four Seasons Langkawi Malaysia, Le Meridien Hotel Kuala Lumpur and holding a variety of positions, which supports him as the current Director of Food and Beverage of the hotel.
In his new role, Derek will be in charge of food and beverage operations of three restaurants, two bars and banqueting of InterContinental Asiana Saigon – Asia’s Leading City Hotel 2014 and Vietnam’s Leading Conference Hotel 2014 by the prestigious World Travel Awards.

A graduate of the University of Toulouse, France, Derek is also an experienced sommelier and a member of Society of Wine Educators.
