A refreshing, smooth, nourishing indulgence, and a longtime favourite with kids and adults of all ages, the premium gelato and sorbetto served at the Resort’s Jimbaran Gardens and Sunset Beach Bar & Grill is created in partnership with Gelato Secrets. This all-natural, artisanal concept fuses the authentic taste of premium Italian ice cream with a uniquely Balinese twist.

Furthermore, Gelato Secrets has developed an exclusive wellness collection of recipes for those with special dietary needs, such as intolerance to lactose, or an allergy to nuts, eggs or soya. The newly-introducedstrawberry rice milk gelato, for example, is created from a mixture of partially milled rice and water; it is highly digestible, low in calories and vegan friendly. The low fat yogurt collection, meanwhile, offers a probiotic benefit that assists in the function of the digestive tract, while additionally being high in calcium and vitamin D, which is known to prevent osteoporosis. It has also been proved that eating low fat dairy will help to reduce high blood pressure. Newly available flavours at InterContinental Bali Resort in this range include plain yogurt, blueberry yogurt and strawberry yogurt.  There is also a soya gelato, which is an excellent, tasty, vegan friendly option with low sugar and no lactose, animal fats, eggs or dairy products, all of which makes a huge difference when one is trying to maintain that Jimbaran Beach body.

The Bali-inspired flavours celebrate the indigenous fruits, spices and edible plants of the island with delights such as the lactose-free cocopandan gelato, made from coconut milk, coconut sugar and pandan  leaves, which are similar ingredients to those used to create the local sweet delicacies of ‘dadar gulung’ and ‘jajan pasar.’ Other innovative, tropical and Bali-inspired newcomers to the Resort’s collection include honey-roasted pineapple mint, bamboo charcoal with organic vanilla, and red dragon fruit cinnamon, while the two new Bali fresh fruit juice sorbettos that contain neither dairy nor eggs are the mango sorbetto with fructose, and thepassion fruit sorbet.  Fructose is a suitable alternative to sugar for anyone trying to control their weight; it can be consumed by diabetics in moderate amounts because it does not significantly raise the body’s glycemic levels. Finally, the gelato served at the Resort is gluten-free and contains none of the fatty acids, triglycerides or trans fats found in regular ice cream, which is known to block our taste buds and prevent the full flavours from reaching us. Gelato contains high levels of protein, vitamin B, calcium and phosphorus; all of which is necessary for good health and especially important for children, seniors, pregnant women and athletes.

InterContinental Bali Resort invites guests to chill out with this thoroughly cool, palate-pleasing, new range of treats served in crispy cones and tubs to create the perfect combination of pleasure and health on a hot sunny day.
