InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa wrapped up its month long campaign with an afternoon tea for its employees on 29th October 2018.

A key initiative for women’s knowledge and personal health, the Human Resources team partnered with the Fiji Cancer Society to raise awareness for the entire resort, beginning with fundraising by selling pink ribbons to symbolise this cause.  Provisions from sales of pink ribbons have been presented by the team to the Fiji Cancer Society.

“As part of our passion and IHG’s core pillar for community service – IHG True Hospitality for Good, we believe that Pinktober is a worthy cause for us to champion within our team.  Cancer cases are on the rise in Fiji, and to be able to support the Fiji Cancer Society with our team speaks volumes for the beginnings of a great partnership with the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa,” says Andrew Davidson, Area General Manager South Pacific at the resort.

“We also have had a resort-wide Pink themed bula wear so that our colleagues feel involved and awareness was also raised at our monthly Town Hall employee meeting,” he continues.  “We are looking forward to making this a bigger event in 2019.”

True Hospitality for Good is our new programme for communities and charitable giving, providing colleagues in our hotels and offices with a greater say in how we support important causes around the world. Together, our aim is to help change lives for the better through building skills and education in hospitality, and to support communities when disasters strike.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is part of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) with over 5,000 and 744,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries.
