This week’s Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) being held in Cairns will provide the perfect platform to launch Cairns Amateurs’ first ever international tourism marketing campaign aimed at boosting visitation from key New Zealand and Asian visitor hubs.

Cairns Amateurs has contracted Parker Travel Collection to plan and implement a strategic travel trade campaign that combines agent training, trade show representation, special events and media communications to ensure the inclusion and distribution of new accommodation and event packages.

The President of Cairns Amateurs, Michael Delaney says his committee, in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, has done its homework and with the right resources in place, is confident the campaign will successfully lift the profile of the Carnival while tapping into new and integral markets.

“We have an excellent base to work from.  In its 56th year, the Amateurs is already a signature event in the region and a major contributor to the economy with last year’s event generating 15,137 visitor nights.
