  • Pay any outstanding bills you have

1 day before moving day

The day before the move you need to make sure everything is ready for the big day. Finalise your packing and make sure everything clean and organised.

  • Remove all the rubbish from your property
  • Defrost your fridges and freezers and dry them out
  • Make sure all the packing is done
  • Check into your flights if possible
  • Keep your valuables and important documents on you
  • If your car is being transported, make sure it is empty and ready for collection

Moving day

When moving day arrives, make sure you’re up early after a good night’s sleep and ready to get going. To make sure your move is as efficient as possible, ensure your boxes are labelled and packed up as close to the front door as possible, so you don’t have to trek around your entire house all day.

  • Get your home cleaned professionally
  • Make sure you turn off all electrical switches and taps
  • Lock up the entire house
  • Check you haven’t left anything behind or forgotten anything important

Hopefully this checklist will allow you to stay organised throughout your entire move, so nothing is forgotten and you aren’t panicking come moving day. Moving overseas can be overwhelming, but with the right removalists and organisational skills, your next move could be a breeze!
