AUSTRALIAN owned International Rail has just launched its new one stop shop dedicated agent portal, allowing agents to access the numerous products and booking systems the wholesaler offers the Australian market, all with the addedpeace of mind of local support from the Melbourne based sales and reservations teams.

Over the past 12 months International Rail has diversified to offer complimentary products to its core rail offering. We have created four new divisions catering for ferries, transfers, hotels and shore excursions. The new website,www.agent.internationalrail.com.au, has been designed to simplify the process for agents to provide their clients with an affordable and efficient range of products – all in one place.

Owner and managing director Jonathan Hume said that in recent years the company identified with the needs of its travel partners and has introduced complimentary travel related products worldwide. These include state of the art online bookings systems for ferries, transfers, shore excursions and hotels.

He added, “By constantly talking to our agency partners, we have recognised products that are often frustrating and complicated to book with low margins, but very necessary to complete a customers’ itinerary. We have simplified this for agents by sourcing and introducing state of the art booking technology available from global providers and supporting it locally from our Melbourne office”.

“We identified a problematic and frustrating product in global transfers and provided our agents with the best available booking software for it; Mozio, a US based technology aggregator of ground transport around the world.   After 8,000 transfer bookings in the first 12 months with a 99% reliability rate, we believe we have solved a long standing frustration for our agents”.

Since then, the company has developed similar partnerships to offer agents shore excursions for cruising, a live booking engine for ferries and a state of the art online booking system for hotels and apartments around the world.

In further expansion of its base product rail, the specialist will be launching a brand new online booking system for trains enabling agents to access live availability and bookings throughout the UK and Europe.
