DEDICATED rail specialist International Rail has announced the latest news on the popular Eastern & Oriental Express classic rail journeys that travel between Singapore and Bangkok, for agents to advise their clients.

The 2018 Eastern & Oriental express program has been released and for the first time the luxurious train experience will now include complimentary beverages throughout the journey. These include house wines, house spirits, local beer and soft drinks. Premium drinks, and drinks ordered to guest cabins will also be available, at an additional charge.

Due to the Raffles Hotel undergoing a restoration project, the Singapore check-in location will be relocated to The Fullerton Hotel from September 14, 2017 for the start of the next season.

A final update is the dress code on board Eastern & Oriental Express has been revised for guests to dress for relaxed comfort on excursions and as you move about the train. To appreciate the traditional quality of the rail experience, smart casual with a touch of understated elegance is required for the restaurant cars and with the Southeast Asian balmy afternoons it is suggested light linens, smart full-length trousers and open-neck shirts are most suited, whilst for dinner a jacket is suggested.

A perfect way to travel cross country, the two-night itinerary from Singapore to Bangkok starts from $4147 per person twin share cabin and includes two-nights’ accommodation aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury train, dedicated 24-hour steward service, daily four-course dinner: Seasonal table d’hôte menu, including coffee, tea and petits fours, daily continental breakfast served in your cabin, daily three-course lunch, afternoon tea, including sandwiches, biscuits and pastries, a guided tour of Kuala Kangsar and a guided cruise along the River Kwai and visit to the War Museum.
