 International SOS, the world’s leading medical and security services company, will hold a complimentary webinar, “Promoting Security Awareness for Women,” on Thursday, July 25, 2013.

The session is the first of a two-part “Safe and Savvy Summer Travel Series,” focusing on traveler security during the busy season.

Part 1: Promoting Security Awareness for Women
Thursday, July 25, 2013, 1 – 2 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time

Female travel safety has made international headlines recently, including assaults during the recent Egypt uprising and an attack on a bus in India. These events have given rise to a range of questions: What can female travelers do to prepare and protect themselves? How can their companies enable them to not only survive the trip or assignment, but also thrive?

Using personal anecdotes from her own travels, Carola Mittrany, a Regional Information Analyst for International SOS and Control Risks, will offer five “golden rules” for women who travel internationally. The presentation will also explore how organizations can take special precautions to prepare women to travel internationally.

For this webinar, she will be joined by Alex Puig, Regional Security Director, Americas, and will also cover:

  • Guidelines for research essentials, preparation tips and what to do in the face of a crisis;
  • Using public transport and health systems;
  • Managing cultural sensitivities and an examination of personal profile with location;
  • Understanding and mitigating the health and security risks.
