Intrepid, Peregrine and Geckos to resume trips in Egypt

Due to the unrest in Egypt in early July and subsequent demonstrations, Intrepid, Peregrine and Geckos decided to cancel trips in Egypt through to 26 October over concerns for the safety of passengers.

We have continued to monitor the situation closely in conjunction with our local operations team based in Cairo and after seeing the situation steadily improve have decided that it is now safe to resume operating trips from 27 October onwards.

“With the help of our Destination Management Company in Cairo, we have assessed that the situation has predominately settled – the government have relaxed aspects of their State of Emergency, including the overnight curfew, and the streets have returned to calm. We are pleased to see our local DMC return to what they do best – our leaders are excited to be leading trips again, hotel staff are extremely welcoming to guests and the Egyptian people wish visitors an enjoyable stay in their country,” said James Thornton, Group Managing Director.

The safety of our passengers remains our highest priority and we will continue to monitor events in Egypt to ensure that all trips operate smoothly and any potential risks are minimised.
