Introducing Carillon Miami Beach

Paying homage to its iconic address and historic namesake, the oceanfront Carillon Miami Beach hotel unveils a new luxury lifestyle brand and signature experience using an intuitive approach to guest service as the foundation for each of its world-class amenities. Home to 580 upscale residences, Carillon is bringing a revitalized, high-end product to the up-and-coming North Beach Miami (NoBe) community and leading the charge in the town’s resurgence as a top travel destination.

After being acquired by Z Capital Partners in January 2015 and appointing global hotelier, Lester Scott, as its Managing Director, the 150 room all-suite hotel has rolled out a dynamic new roster of concepts within the spa, culinary, medical, wellness and other hotel facets, in addition to an exclusive membership program that will provide access to Carillon’s unrivaled offerings.

Originally known as The Carillon Hotel, Carillon Miami Beach has embraced the name and signage that has remained atop the building as a city landmark since its opening in 1958. Once a hub for the movers and shakers of the Rat Pack era, Carillon will seamlessly meld the modern travel experience with the impeccable service standards and class of the hotel’s origin.

Kicking off the rebranding is the launch of Carillon’s new restaurant, THYME – a concept developed by world-renowned Executive Chef Fritz Zwahlen – serving progressive American cuisine with fresh, seasonal ingredients & Asian influence. Sought after oceanfront views from the indoor/outdoor venue perfectly complement the uniquely crafted menu offerings, which feature dishes such as Short-rib Fois Gras Dumplings and Miso Black Cod.

The tongue-in-cheek concept behind THYME directly links to Carillon’s symbolic meaning – bells of a clock tower, which turn the hands of time – a motif that is physically represented throughout the property via massive functioning clocks on the top of the main tower’s exterior, as well as Roman numeral reflections that are cast on the side of the building before the sun sets each day. These elements intend to evoke a sense of timelessness and work hand-in-hand with the hotel’s signature experiences to create an emotion-evoking journey for Carillon guests.

Cue: the world-renowned spa.

It’s fair to say that the intuitive service philosophy is most prominent at The Spa at Carillon – a 70,000 sq. ft. facility encompassing integrated medical, wellness and fitness programs – where a brand-new partnership with global luxury skin care brand, Clarins, has allowed the Carillon team to utilize these high-end products to design new treatments that are both results-driven and can be adapted to suit each guest’s individual needs. The only hotel in Miami Beach offering a full array of Clarins products, this latest partnership is just the first step in elevating the Carillon spa experience.

A natural extension of The Spa, Carillon’s onsite medical staff has been enhancing their functional medicine and modern methods to offer a new Executive Health Package aimed at individuals and corporate groups. Additionally, progressive daily lectures center around topics relevant to today’s patient, carrying through The Spa at Carillon’s integrated medicine and mind, body & soul renewal philosophies to help consumers all live a better life beyond the treatment room.

Additional property upgrades have included the installation of the country’s largest collection of state-of-the-art ARTIS™ Cardiovascular equipment by Technogym, and a revamp of The Boutique, which will offer a selection of home goods and high-end clothing, welcoming featured local designers to host trunk shows throughout the year.

Adapting the check in/check out process to suit the mobile-savvy modern traveler, a new Personal Concierge program brings an elevated level of luxury service to the Carillon experience. Guests are assigned their own dedicated concierge who will customize their itineraries from the moment they book, while mobile and tablet technologies will ensure rooms are available and ready for same-day arrivals.

The Club at Carillon, an exclusive fee-based membership program, will be launching in winter 2015, offering a high-end respite for local patrons to take advantage of the hotel’s heightened services. Members will receive: preferred pricing on concierge services, cabanas, personal training, spa services and retail offerings, beach access with complimentary amenities, and workshops at the Health & Wellness Center.

Looking to future projects, spring 2016 will mark the beginning of an extensive renovation to recreate the hotel’s lobby and porte cochere, THYME restaurant, bar & lounge, outdoor event spaces, pool area and The Spa, along with the addition of an outdoor bar area that will transform the Oceanfront Terrace into a coveted new venue. The renovation is set to wrap in early winter 2016 and is projecting an estimated investment of $25 million.

This is just the beginning for the Carillon brand, as plans are already in motion to recreate this sophisticated, intuitive service hotel concept both domestically and internationally.
