Introducing Lake House at High Peaks Resort

After an extensive multi-million dollar refurbishment, the former Lakeview Motor Inn of the upscale and beautifully-designed High Peaks Resort on Mirror Lake has transformed into the new 44-room Lake House. a new take on the classic motor lodge of the 1960s, Lake House will delight guests, family and friends. Newly renovated with a modern, yet rustic aesthetic, Lake House retains its authentic Adirondack feel while delivering the modern amenities expected by travelers today. Visitors will enjoy newly renovated rooms complete with modern amenities and access to all the recreational activities offered in the world famous Lake Placid region. The Lake House celebrates the area’s character and takes full advantage of dramatic sweeping vistas along with its desirable location overlooking Mirror Lake, in the heart of Lake Placid’s shopping, entertainment and dining district  — to provide an outstanding mountain getaway experience.

Guests are greeted by an open lobby, reminiscent of a 1960s ski chalet, with spectacular views of Mirror Lake and the surrounding mountains. The double-sided fireplace adds warmth to the lobby and adjacent lounge.

Along with its unique combination of location and mountain views, all Lake House guestrooms have a balcony or patio, waterfront access, and use of all amenities including the 24-hour fitness center and business center at sister property High Peaks Resort across the street. Guestrooms are appointed with modern Adirondack décor and brightly colored fabrics, superior quality bedding and linens, oversized work desks, refrigerators, flat screen televisions, movies and video games.

Originally built in 1961 as Leahy’s Lakeside Inn, the hotel evolved in 1979 as the Lakeview Motor Inn.  Today, the Lake House and its expansive lobby overlooks Mirror Lake, delivering a classic Adirondack experience and a modern mountain vacation retreat.
