Would you like to surprise your loved ones to a beautiful candlelit dinner on the calm Lake Malawi waters? Or host an intimate wedding luncheon on a boat in crystal clear waters on a warm sunny day while watching the white shores of Lake Malawi at Sunbird Nkopola recede in the distance?

The latest addition to the Sunbird family; MV Mwande; offers a world of beautiful possibilities to Sunbird’s corporate and leisure clients. With a capacity of 100 people depending on the weather, Mwande has an in built music system and bathroom facilities.

From birthday parties to cocktails; Mwande is perfect for hosting both private and corporate functions. It is also ideal for group excursions to the nearby Bird Island, Mangochi Boma, Cape Maclear, Maldeco Cages, Mvuu Camp and Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima.

During the periods when the lake is calm and tranquil; Mwande can be used for strategy sessions with your management team – the clear blue waters and skies will certainly stimulate your thought process!

If you would like to use Mwande as a floating restaurant, a fee of K2000.00 will get you on board. All you need to do is sit back, enjoy the scenery and let Sunbird staff do all the work…

The Sunbird Nkopola Dream Beach Getaway is still ongoing which means clients can take advantage of the low rates to experience what Mwande has to offer.

Over at Sunbird Capital; the team at Sunbird Capital have decided to be very generous; on Fridays; if you buy two pizzas from the traditional wood fired pizzeria; you get one pizza on the house; what better way to start the weekend?

And, on Wednesdays, in addition to the traditional Malawian cuisine served in Mimosa Restaurant at Capital, the Hotel has also introduced steak and burgers as a special. We’d recommend that you try our legendary Sunbird Burger next time you stop by…

Because Sunbird are always looking at ways in which to give back, the Group helped support the first ever Lake of Stars Children’s Festival that took place at Sunbird Capital on the 14th of June. The little ones had lots of fun withdance; theatre; puppetry; games and play equipment; sports; jumping castles; arts & crafts; technology displays, and a host of other activities!
