Introducing The Plaza Finishing Program with Beaumont Etiquette: An International Finishing Program for Adults in the United States
Touted to be one of the most exciting and talked about launches of 2017, The Plaza Finishing Program with Beaumont Etiquette is a series of adult etiquette courses designed to instruct participants in modern social, business, and dining etiquette. The first of its kind, those looking for a prestigious international education in etiquette no longer have to fly to Europe; the program can be found exclusively at The Plaza Hotel.
Course registration is now open. The finishing program is presented in an intimate format and will begin in January and run through April 2017. Enrollment is limited, and on a first come, first serve basis.
The two course options available include either a luxurious weekend finishing program or a single evening training course.
The series of weekend-long finishing courses targets both local, out-of-state and international men and women, ages 21 and up. The weekend starts with a welcome soirée Friday afternoon at The Plaza Hotel, followed by intensive small group training all day on Saturday and Sunday, and ending with a certificate of attendance ceremony. Topics range from dressing and first impressions to formal dining and afternoon tea etiquette, posture, deportment, business etiquette, networking and dozens of subjects in between. The Course is divided into seven modules throughout the weekend, with expert guest speakers covering topics ranging from how to engage in conversation in social and business situations to how to dress elegantly and appropriately for casual and black-tie functions. Dates for the intensive weekend finishing program are February 3rd – 5th, March 24th – 26th and April 21st – 23rd. The price per person starts at US$2,750, with the option to receive a special enrollment courtesy rate available during the weekend and three nights before and after the completion of the course. Room packages will be available upon request.
The second series, The Plaza Proper Etiquette Evenings, is comprised of small group courses targeting New York and tri-state area professionals aged 21 and up. Held on select Wednesdays starting January 18th, The Plaza Proper Etiquette Evenings program will be US$75 per person, per session, and offered from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in The Palm Court. Guests enrolled will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres over an etiquette lesson. Dates and topics include: January 18th – Business/Networking Etiquette; February 1st – Dating Etiquette; February 22nd – Dining Etiquette; March 1st – Engagement and Wedding Etiquette; March 15th – Social Swans: Social Graces Etiquette; April 5th – Dining Etiquette.
The etiquette courses will be taught by highly trained instructors from Beaumont Etiquette, a New York based company whose founder, Myka Meier, a dual American-British citizen, was trained by a former member of the Royal Household of Her Majesty the Queen, and has attended multiple finishing schools in both England and Switzerland. While all courses are based on Western (American, British and European fundamentals) etiquette and taught in English, the programs were created to be exciting, interactive and modern to reflect today’s society.
“Like The Plaza, etiquette is rooted in tradition, yet constantly evolving and au courant,” says George Cozonis, Managing Director at The Plaza. “The Plaza Finishing Program with Beaumont Etiquette un- derscores our belief in the importance of social customs in preserving the fabric of our society.”
