The ISPS HANDA Melbourne World Cup of Golf, set to tee off 21-25 November on the Melbourne Sandbelt’s pristine Metropolitan Golf Club, offers numerous ways for fans to experience the action both inside and outside the ropes. With the purchase of a grounds ticket, the most accessible of all ticket options, attendees have the opportunity to watch some of the best players from around the world compete while enjoying FREE access to several amenities and activities, such as those located in The Village, which will serve as the central hub of activity for the event adjacent to the Clubhouse.

The 2018 ISPS HANDA Melbourne World Cup of Golf will be contested at The Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne from 21-25 November, 2018. The 59th staging of the event will see the 56-player field vie for the largest prize-money purse in Australian golf, with $US7 million on offer. Australian representatives Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith will take on 27 of the top golfing countries in the world in search of Australia’s sixth World Cup of Golf title.

Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets prior to prices increasing on 5 November. Ticket options range from Wednesday practice round tickets starting at $22.00, single-day competitive round tickets starting at $31.00 and tickets to the upgraded MacKenzie Club (Thursday to Sunday) starting at $84.00. Weekly tickets are also available for $122, with a MacKenzie Club option priced at $295.

The Village will feature fantastic local food options from a suite of Melbourne’s favourite food trucks, activities for all ages, a super screen to catch all the tournament action, a public putting area, and great vantage points to watch the professionals warm up on the driving range and putting area before heading out for their competition rounds.

Fans can also donate to men’s health through the Movember Foundation. While in the centre of The Village, fans can exchange a donation for the opportunity to make the ‘Longest Charity Putt’. For the gentlemen, a collaboration between the Movember Foundation and Kings Domain Barber Shop will offer the opportunity to get a haircut or have their beards trimmed, with funds raised going back to the Movember Foundation.

Once the professionals finish their round on Friday and Saturday, fans will be treated to a showcase of golf’s inclusive design as 12 of the world’s leading golfers with a disability from seven different countries compete in the ISPS HANDA Disabled Golf Cup. The 36-hole competition will mirror the World Cup format on the same course under the same conditions as the professionals.

The fun for fans doesn’t stop there, with Entertainment in The Village slated for Friday and Saturday after play. Adelaide and her A-Team will take centre stage Friday 23 November beginning at 3pm and will perform three sets, followed by the in-demand Soul, RnB, Pop & Jazz outfit The Mac Project on Saturday 24 November also kicking off at 3pm.

“We recognise that the tournament appeals to a wide audience, near and far, so we wanted to look for ways to elevate our fan experience by introducing new and different activations,” said Robyn Cooper, Executive Director of the ISPS HANDA Melbourne World Cup of Golf. “When considering what a typical ticket provides at other major sporting events, you really can’t beat the value, access and overall experience that comes with the purchase of a grounds ticket at the ISPS HANDA Melbourne World Cup of Golf!”

The grounds ticketholder is able to get to within a few feet of the world’s best golfers with a ticket starting at $22 and still have free access to great amenities like the Heineken3 Container Bar, Coffee by Genovese, the best of Melbourne’s food trucks on site each day, the latest golf simulators, and a number of other interactive activities that the whole family can enjoy. Local names like 400 Gradi, Cheesesteak, Real O.G. Burgers and Wingster’s will all be on site to serve up some of their delicious fare.

The Oasis is another centralised service area for the attendees of the tournament. This area will have food and beverage offerings, activities for all ages to participate in, and has great sight lines onto the competition 13th green and 14th tee.

The main attraction at The Oasis each day will be the Odyssey Oasis Challenge, a putting contest open to the general public attendees of the tournament Wednesday to Sunday between 9am and 12pm. The first five challengers to sink the Odyssey Oasis Challenge putt each day will have the opportunity to compete in the Odyssey Oasis Shootout later that day where they can test their skills against a friend of Callaway on the Official Practice Green for a chance to win an Odyssey O-works putter of their choice.

For the Citi cardholders on site at Metropolitan, the Citi Cardmember Lounge overlooking the 16th green offers fans the privilege to enter by simply showing their Citi debit or credit card. This on-course, purpose-built lounge facility with food and beverage retail offering will be the perfect place to cool off while enjoying the action on the course.

Ticket buyers are reminded that youth 16 and under are admitted to the event free of charge when accompanied by a ticketed adult. To purchase tickets or find more information on ticket options, fans can log on to www.WorldCupofGolf.com.
