It’s All Hands On Deck At The Whitsunday Writers Festival

Positioned on the South Marina foreshore with breath taking views out over the marina and the Coral Sea, Abell Point Marina is the ultimate location to sit back, relax and let the creative juices flow for this year’s Whitsundays Writers Festival.

Abell Point Marina is honored to be presenting the Whitsunday Writers Festival which runs from 18-20 September. The annual event is in its sixth year and vastly growing. You don’t have to be a writer to be part of the festival – anyone who reads or likes to listen to people talk about interesting topics while enjoying fantastic food and wine overlooking the Coral Sea should come along.

One of Australia’s best known sailors, Jessica Watson, will be talking about her adventures, as the youngest person to sail around the world and on Saturday night she will be joined by Ryan Campbell, the youngest pilot to circumnavigate the globe. These two amazing people will enthrall us with their stories whilst we enjoy a gourmet meal.

Other authors include Blanche d’Alpuget, Darren Stephens, the man who put Men are From Venus, Women from Mars on the worldwide map.  He will tell us how to become an international bestselling author and make a million dollars a year!

For the first time, there will also be an art exhibition, courtesy of local Whitsunday artists, and photography and painting workshops for those interested in the visual arts, as well as self-publishing and poetry writing workshops. The festival concludes with a long table lunch on Sunday.
