JAL Revises Flight Schedules on its Boston, San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City Routes for the Second Half of FY2014

July 25, 2014 Aviation No Comments Email Email

JAL Group (JAL) announced today revised flight schedules from the second half of FY2014 in order to strengthen the airline’s international network due to expected growth of demand on its North America=Asia routes, and also to improve transit convenience to/from the airline’s domestic network within Japan. The changes and customers’ benefits include:

  • Tokyo (Narita) = Boston

The departure time from Tokyo (Narita) to Boston will be changed from late morning to evening.

As a result, accessibility between cities throughout Asia and Boston (via Narita) will greatly improve as the number of same-day connections will increase from seven cities (*1) to 15 cities (*2).

  • Tokyo (Narita) = Ho Chi Minh City

The flight arrival time at Tokyo (Narita) will be changed from early morning to afternoon.

Thus, the airline will offer increased connection opportunities to customers, particularly to the U.S. West Coast, within an approximate four hour time period, from JAL’s Ho Chi Minh City to Tokyo (Narita) flight from currently three cities (Chicago, Boston and New York) to seven cities adding Dallas/Ft. Worth (*3), Los Angeles, San Diego and Vancouver.

  • Tokyo (Haneda) = San Francisco

The flight arrival time at Tokyo (Haneda) will be changed to early morning instead of evening.

Therefore, new same-day connections to all JAL domestic routes from Tokyo (Haneda) will be realized.  It will also be possible for customers to connect at Haneda to cities throughout Asia (*4).

Additionally, the airline has decided to introduce its fully revamped aircraft, the JAL SKY SUITE 777(SS7), onto the San Francisco=Haneda route to ensure an even more comfortable in-flight experience with improved space.

  • Tokyo (Haneda) = Ho Chi Minh City

The flight arrival time at Tokyo (Haneda) will be changed to early morning instead of evening.

As a result, new same-day connections to all JAL domestic routes from Tokyo (Haneda) will be realized.

JAL’s joint business partner, American Airlines (AA), also has announced a schedule change on its flight from Narita to Los Angeles, which will increase the number of connection opportunities from JL-operated flights arriving at Narita from cities throughout Asia. JAL and American Airlines aim to strengthen their flights’ connectivity to meet the robust demand on North America=Asia routes.

JAL will embrace new challenges to further enhance its network as well as the quality of products and services in order to provide customers with more convenience.
