Responding to customer requests for hot dining options at airport lounges located outside of Japan, Japan Airlines (JAL) announced today that it is now serving “YAKI-ONIGIRI CHAZUKE (grilled rice ball dipped in soup stock)” at its Sakura Lounge at Honolulu International Airport. JAL will also introduce hot dining options at the airline’s First Class and Sakura Lounges located at Frankfurt and San Francisco International Airports starting from October 2016.
Frankfurt – JAL First Class Lounge:
JAL First Class Lounge guests at Frankfurt Airport can soon savor the flavors of a new chicken curry dish based on a special recipe that includes Japanese ramen (noodles) from Frankfurt-based restaurant “MUKU” – renowned by visitors from throughout Europe. The harmony of pork bone broth and chicken is what makes this tasty curry so unique. The airline announced that its First Class Lounge guests can also look forward to a second special “MUKU” ramen dish in near future.
San Francisco – JAL Sakura Lounge:
In addition to the “FUTOMAKI SUSHI (Sushi roll)” currently served at JAL’s Sakura Lounge at San Francisco International Airport, the airline will add two hot Japanese dishes to its lounge menu: “YAKI-ONIGIRI CHAZUKE (grilled rice ball dipped in soup stock)” and “CHIKUZEN-NI (simmered root vegetables with chicken).” Honolulu – JAL Sakura Lounge:
Sakura Lounge guests at Honolulu International Airport can now enjoy JAL’s popular “SPECIAL YAKI-ONIGIRI CHAZUKE (grilled rice ball in Umami soup).” The grilled rice ball is made with California KOSHIHIKARI rice and flavored with Hawaiian Sea Salt.
