Grammy® Award-winning singer-songwriter James Taylor and his band dazzled guests aboard Cunard Line’s flagship Queen Mary 2 during the 27 August 2014 Transatlantic Crossing.  Highlights from Taylor’s time on board can be viewed here.

The celebrated American music legend appeared on the heels of his successful summer tour, which earned him accolades from the Orange County Register, The Seattle Times and other press.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recipient gave two concerts in Queen Mary 2’s Royal Court Theatre during the eight-day Crossing from New York to Southampton, England, via Halifax, Nova Scotia. Energy was palpable as James Taylor rubbed shoulders with guests, autographed memorabilia and performed iconic songs including “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” and “Carolina in My Mind.” As the highlight video shows, audience members danced and sang, and some commented that having Taylor on board was “the icing on the cake” to have a beloved performing artist as part of their “dream holiday” at sea.

“Our guests were extremely thrilled to enjoy this intimate concert experience with a music icon, which made the Crossing that much more memorable,” said David Dingle, CEO for Cunard Line.

James Taylor and his band first performed during a Transatlantic Crossing aboard Queen Mary 2 in 2009, to standing room only audiences.
